Do you ever wonder how our brain works and can help us in managing our thoughts and emotions, in order to self-regulate? This session will define self-regulation and review how this essential skill is developed in children and adolescents and discuss how it is used in everyday life. Emphasis will be placed on the strategies and resources that staff can use to support the development of self-regulation therefore increasing individuals’ mental health and resiliency. This interactive presentation will also explore how your own self-regulation can positively impact individuals’ you encounter in your work settings.
*Please note, we would encourage anyone interested in this workshop to register for More than Just a Bad Day: Understanding and Supporting Individuals with Depression and Self-injury on January 18th, but it is not required.
