Positioning, Lifts, Transfers, Mobility, and Restraints for Non-HCAs
Positioning, lifts and transferring are among the most frequent personal care activities support workers are responsible for when supporting individuals with disabilities or the elderly, as is assisting with mobility. In this full day course, participants learn why we move clients a certain way and how to do to keep all involved safe and injury-free. Restraint use is also discussed, with emphasis on “least restraint policy” and alternatives to considering restraints.
This course is adapted from the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Provincial Curriculum.
